Refashion and memories

Sono sicura che tutte noi abbiamo qualche abito da cui non riusciamo a separarci e lo teniamo nell'armadio nella speranza di indossarlo nuovamente. Ma il cambio degli armadi talvolta impone una scelta: tenere, buttare, donare o... trasformare? Siiiii - it's time to refashion!

Tutorial di refashion ce ne sono tonnellate su internet e questo post non lo è. Anzi non sono degli esempi particolarmente originali di refashion, ma non volevo proprio separami da questi 2 indumenti. Soprattutto perché non sono vestiti ready-to-wear comprati in qualche negozio, ma sono stati cuciti entrambi da mia mamma.

We all have some clothes from which we can't separate and we still keep them in the closet, hoping to wear them again. But sometimes the change of clothes in middle seasons imposes a choice: keep, throw away, donate or... transform? Yeeeessss- it's time to refashion!

There are tons of refashion tutorial on the web but this post is not one of those. These refashion are not particularly original, but I didn't want to give these clothes away. Especially because they are not RTW clothes, bought in some stores, but my mom sewed them both.

Adoro le camicie con il fiocco. Ora si trovano un po' ovunque, è facile trovarle nei negozi e ci sono diversi cartamodelli di designer indipendenti che le hanno proposte. Ma quando il mio amore per queste camicie è sbocciato, era difficile trovarle nei negozi e io non sapevo ancora cucire. E' stato proprio in quel momento che ho capito che era ora di imparare a cucire e a confezionarla da me. Poi ho smesso di lavorare in ufficio, così le camicie con il fiocco sono passate in secondo piano. Ma quando ho trovato il cartamodello di questa blusa, non ho esitato nemmeno un momento e l'ho inserito subito nella mia to-do list.

Ho soprannominato questa camicia "la blusa brianzola". Perché si dice che i Brianzoli abbiano il braccino corto.

I love bow blouses. Now they are everywhere: it's easy to find them in stores and there are different patterns proposed by indie designers . But when my love for bow shirts began, it was hard to find them in shops and I didn't know sewing. It was just then that I realized it was time to learn to sew and make it by myself. Then I stopped working in office, so bow shirts passed into background. But when I found the pattern of this blouse, I didn't hesitate a moment and I immediately put it into my to-do list.

We always want to save money, but maybe this time I exaggerated.
