Pensavo stesse scherzando, pensavo fosse la solita frase che in genere la gente mi dice quando scopre che so tenere un ago in mano. Invece no. La zia di una mia amica era seria: mi ha messo in mano uno scampolo di tessuto e mi ha chiesto di farle una camicia su misura. E’ stato quello il momento in cui è incomiciata l’altalena di emozioni che mi ha abbandonata solo quando gliel’ho consegnata: dall’entusiasmo di poter cucire qualcosa per uno sconosciuto al terrore di sbagliare tutto, ma proprio tutto.
I thought she was joking, I thought it was the usual phrase that generally people say when they discover that I sew. But no. My friend’s aunt was serious: she gaves me the fabric and asked me to sew a shirt for her. That was the moment in which the seesaw of my emotions began. From the enthusiasm to sew something for a stranger to the fear to make a big fail.
