Mug rugs for Christmas

Did you spend a Merry Christmas? I hope so! I spent Christmas with my family at my parents' house unwraping gifts and eating so many good things.
Finally gifts were all handed, so now I can show you the ones I sewed for aunts and friends: simple mug rug in patchwork style.

This year I organized for time and I bought these fabrics with these very "sweet" patterns to Abilmente fair in October, at Merceria e dintorni. I thought they were perfect to brighten up some breakfast on Monday morning. I did not follow any pattern or tutorial on internet, I chose the size of the mug rug (cm 24x16) and of all the pieces.
My mom just showed me how to sew the pieces together, taking as seam allowance the foot of the sewing machine. For the back I used black cotton that I had in my stash and I put in the middle synthetic padding. Then I stitched it in a very simple way, with straight seams. I tried something more complicated, like wavy seams in "Free Motion" style, but they wasn't very nice and I didn't feel to redo them so many times - in the end I made about 15 mug rugs...
E voi? Vi siete divertite a cucire qualche regalo?
Ancora buone feste a tutte!
I enjoyed a lot making them, even if they are not clothes, because they are easy and fast to make and I hope that who received it likes it. In my opinion there is only one thing is missing: a label with my name and the word "handmade"! ;)
And you? Did you enjoyed making some Christmas presents?
Sorry for my bad english and Happy New Year!
