Christmas gifts part #2

19 January 2016

For last Christmas I wanted that most of my gifts were handmade. In addition to the sweatshirt to my brother, I thought to give to aunts and friends little things, of course handmade by me. Well, you say, what does it take? But it's normal that, when you have a plan, it will surely go wrong. I thought to have all December to made all the gifts, but I was wrong: my little 3yo pest has been ill for the first 15 days of the month, making me unable to do anything. With only ten days available, I started to work hard ;-)

1. From a beautiful piece of Liberty fabric I purchased at Abilmente fair last October, I made two triangular scarf, following this tutorial by the Italian Cosebelle Magazine. For the back I used a blue viscose. I had some problems due to the difference between the two fabrics, but with a little patience I did. They seem to be warm and comfortable!
2. I made two clutch using the same pattern that I used for my faux leather clutch. Both have black lining with internal pocket of the same color as the exterior, to make it more visible.
3. I made a version of my shoulder bag, but in black. I love that fabric with black triangles from Robert Kaufman! I had some problems with the shoulder strap that twisted like a snake, but I managed to solve it by the method explained in this tutorial.

4. With the same fabrics, I also realized the card wallets, following this tutorial. I modified the original front to look like more an envelope.
Avete regalato qualcosa fatto a mano?
I confess that it was challenging, but definitely very satisfying. But I solemnly swear that next year I'll start much earlier.
And you? Did you give as Christmas gift something made by you?
